13^th Annual Highlands’ Buffalo River Classic & Ozark Society General Meeting at Ozark Campground, Buffalo National River on 4/12/25!

The Ozark Society General Spring Membership Meeting and the Highlands Chapter Buffalo River Classic will be a combined event this year.  The Buffalo River Chapter will be hosting the Ozark Society General Membership Meeting.  The combined event will take place at the Ozark Campground in the Buffalo National River on April 12, 2025.

If you’ve never joined us for the Classic, this is a great time to enjoy the outdoors while meeting people who hike, float, camp and strive to protect our environment in general and more specifically our beautiful Buffalo National River. Additional details will be posted, as we get closer to the date.  Please note the information below:

• Hike:  There will be hikes on the Buffalo River Trail.   Our hiking schedule will be posted. Sign-up for the hikes with Kris McMillen krismcmillen7@gmail.com
• Cookout: The Ozark Campground Pavilion has been reserved for our pot-luck cook-out; it starts at approximately 4:00pm.  You will need to sign-up for this event. We’ll provide the hamburgers, all the fixin’s and napkins.  Please state vegetarian option (veggie burger) if applicable.  Please bring your own beverage and a side dish to share. •  Float: The Buffalo River presents a beautiful floating opportunity. Please enjoy this lovely outdoor adventure. Detailed information will be provided later. Sign-up for the float with Don Bridges gofigure243@hotmail.com
• Overnight Accommodations: Ozark Campground does not offer reservations through Recreation.gov. Campsites are first come first served, so please plan accordingly.  Campgrounds, RV Parks, and other lodgings can be found in and around Jasper, Arkansas. Additional Information will be provided, as we approach the event date.
• The Location:The Ozark Campground is located along the Buffalo River off of Highway 7, about 4 miles north of Jasper and 15 miles south of Harrison, Arkansas. The campground is located 1.5 miles off of Highway 7, at the end of County Road at GPS Coordinates Latitude 36° 3′ 50.4360″ N     Longitude   93° 9′ 35.4852″ W
